A leading orthopedic device company wanted to map the orthopedic patient pathway for a common procedure in order to increase patient satisfaction, reduce length of stay and associated hospital costs and improve hospital efficiency in order to engage payers more effectively

Solution

  • We conducted secondary research  to explore existing evidence and develop a working hypotheses
  • Internal stakeholders were interviewed to understand the key areas of focus for current activity, the initiatives undertaken and their overall effectiveness.
  • An advisory board was convened with a cross-section of relevant healthcare provider involved in the end to end OR process, including surgeons, OR nurses, quality directors, and physical therapists.

Outcome

  • A fully mapped and validated care pathway
  • Strategic implications and a clear action plan for addressing inefficiencies and bottlenecks
  • The client team have requested further advisory boards in different global regions.
